Day 3

On our last and final day in Napa, we wanted to knock out a little more shopping. Yes, even Chris wanted to go shopping!

As speculated, we headed back to Oxbow Public Market in the morning. Once we arrived, we were a little bit hungry. I say "a little bit" because we may or may not have eaten the remainder of our wedding cake on the way into town...we HAD to. The cream cheese frosting couldn't last the drive back home. What, do you think we would just waste it? There's starving children in Africa, you know.

I headed over to Pia Pia to browse the menu while Chris was purchasing something elsewhere in the market. I ordered three empanadas; one queso, one black bean and queso, and one meat (pork, beef and chicken). Chris had no clue what empanadas were but he is definitely a lover of the pocket pies now. Given his and Jason's history with T-Bell in Santa Cruz, I can't believe he didn't remember the chain having those caramel apple empanadas! He says he doesn't recall them because they probably weren't ever on the value menu!

Chris favored the meat pie, while I preferred the black bean because it was spicy!

We enjoyed our grub outside in the nice, warm weather. There were lots of CHEAP organic starter plants for sale that I knew Desi would drool over!

After we left the market, we headed back into Yountville to do some more shopping. Apparently nothing was too exciting there because I have no pictures to document the town. We did find a bowl at one store that said “Rice, Rice, Baby” inside, and had a grooves on the rim to rest chopsticks. We meant to go back for it to round out a certain someone’s birthday gift, but we suck and forgot. Just use your imagination; it was really cute!

After we finished up in Yountville, we headed home. We stopped for Chevy's on our way home and it was delicious. We need to go there more often; Sunrise isn't that far, really. We love that corn stuff.

When we arrived home, Chris carried me over the threshold (really! It was cute) of our front door, and we were welcomed by this:

Welcome Home!
Thank you to my new in-laws for this! What a sweet surprise to see when we got home!

We headed back outside to start unloading the car and I noticed that Ari wasn't eager to see us at the gate. I went back to open the gate, and immediately saw this:

I yelled to Chris that we got an Ez Up! How cool is that? and perfect timing for this gorgeous weather we've been having. He came to the backyard to check it out and said, "And we got a barbecue!"

What another great surprise to come home too! Thank you to the Davises and St. Pierres for this :)
It seems like everyone was so eager and excited to welcome us home. Well, not exactly. This dude was definitely not on the same page...

He was PISSED. Don't worry, we made up later ;)
